CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE:
The application process for securing a Fireworks Stand Permit for the 2018 Fourth of July Celebration begins Thursday, March 1, 2018. The deadline for filing the application is Sunday, April 15, 2018.
A maximum of six Fireworks Stands are authorized within the City of Arroyo Grande during the designated period. Permits are issued to applicants in the order of the eligibility list. The eligibility list is maintained by the Five Cities Fire Authority on an ongoing basis and made available to the public. The 2018 applicants are TBD. Applications are available at the Five Cities Fire Authority, Headquarters ~ Station 1, 140 Traffic Way, Arroyo Grande.
If any applications from eligible applicants are either denied or not received by April 15, 2018, the next applicant(s) on the list shall be deemed eligible. The Five Cities Fire Authority shall attempt to provide notice to the applicant; however, it shall be the absolute duty of the applicant to stay apprised of its position on the list. Such eligible applicants shall file an application for a permit with the Five Cities Fire Authority no later than Tuesday, May 15, 2018. Applicants filing an application that are not on the existing list will be placed at the end of the list at the time the application is filed.
Per City Ordinance, “safe and sane” fireworks begin at 12 Noon June 28th through 12 Noon July 5th. All other days the sales will be during the period of 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Fireworks are permissible for discharge from 12 Noon July 3rd through 12 Midnight July 5th.
